About Us

The Monroe County Health Council, also referred to as the Monroe County Community Health Access Committee, was established in 1989 in response to the Community Health Act that same year.  The Council consists of volunteers representing various organizations throughout the county.  The purpose of the Health Council is to promote accessible quality health care for all Monroe County.  One aim of the Health Council is to increase awareness of health promotion and disease prevention.  The Monroe County Health Council is committed to the health and well-being of the citizens of Monroe County and has supported and continues to support many community projects and special events. The Monroe County Health Council (MCHC), established in 1989, has a long, successful record of public service.  The Council is dedicated to creating and implementing new, innovative programs through collaboration with other agencies.
