Monroe STOPe is hosting Julie Whited with Art & Soul for a FREE healing art painting class for survivors of domestic violence. Participants will create and keep a painting while learning how art can be used as a coping technique and self-care skill to assist with healing from and overcoming trauma. The Hairdresser Project is a campaign hosted by Monroe STOPe to equip those in the beauty industry with the knowledge and skill-set to identify & refer possible victims to services for those affected by domestic violence. This project is not intended to teach or promote crises response or solution.

The Me & My Guy Dance is presented by Monroe STOPe and the Monroe County Health Council to foster healthy relationships between girls and their father figure. Studies have shown girls who have a positive male role model in their lives are less likely to become victims of domestic violence as adults.
The Me & My Guy 2017 Dance 'An Evergreen Evening' is going to be an event unlike any other! This is a dance you and your little girl do NOT want to miss! The dance will occur on Saturday, December 2nd at Tsali Notch Vineyard from 5-8pm. There will be food, dancing, silent auction bidding, professional photography, and plenty of memories to be made! The venue is breathtaking, and worth the trip itself! Make sure you register for your ticket soon.
Tickers are FREE this year, however there are a limited number of tickets available. Ticket registration IS REQUIRED for all attendees. This event is made possible through VOCA grant funding, and any/all dontations/proceeds from the event will go toward the Crisis Care Fund, which provides emergency monetary assistance to victims in need.

This is an effort to encourage a more active lifestyle for the citizens of Monroe County. The event will include activities, performances, athletic sign-ups, educational info, booths, and guest speakers. The event is free and open to the entire community. In honor of National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, our Health Council participates in both local and global campaigns. Self-defense classes are offered to local Girl Scout troops, presentations are given at local schools within SADD Clubs of Monroe County, and our social media presence is periodically made relevant to the cause. It is our desire to educate our local youth about healthy relationships, as well as to serve those who have been affected by unhealthy relationships and/or domestic violence. Admission is $5 and donations will be accepted. All proceeds will directly benefit victims of Domestic Violence in Monroe County through our Crisis Care Fund, which exists to financially asist those in crisis as a result of violence. We are sure to have an awesome time, one you don't want to miss!!
