Monroe County Is A Governor Designated Healthier Tennessee Community
MOVE MORE, EAT HEALTHIER, DON'T SMOKE.
The Monroe County Health Council has partnered with the State of Tennessee, the Monroe County Health Department, the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, Sweetwater Hospital Association, Monroe County Coordinated School Health, Sweetwater City Schools Coordinated School Health, the East Tennessee Foundation, the University of Tennessee Extension Office, as well as other individuals and businesses to have Monroe County, Tennessee designated by the Governor as a "Healthier Tennessee Community". Activities in the initiative is funded by Monroe County United Way.
Our goals are to encourage more movement, healthier eating habits, and tobacco cessation for the citizens of Monroe County.
Before and after school fitness classes are offered in Monroe County and Sweetwater City Schools in partnership with the Coordinated School Health Offices and through funding from East Tennessee Foundation and the United Way. Give us a call for more information!
Summer Camps are cancelled for the 2021 year dear to COVID-19 restrictions and to reduce potential infection of our instructors and participants. We hope to have camps next year!! We miss you!
